Lignum Vitae a.k.a. palo santo, holy wood, green heart or of course iron wood, is hard, dense and durable, the most dense of any known wood, it will not float yet it provides its own natural lubricating oils therefore the wood will not dry out. The Lignum Vitae is the national flower of Jamaica and the national tree of The Bahamas.

If you ever get a chance to visit Negril you have to stop by Rockey. He is a very socialable and knowledgable about his products. We felt very much at home in his shop and were very satisfied with the items we purchased. When we go back to Negril we will definitely pay him a visit.
